Cheryl Frank was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin. She grew up a mile from Lake Michigan, with a woods and creek behind her house. She studied viola performance at Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio, and at the Eastman School of Music. She played viola in the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in New Orleans and was displaced back to Rochester by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. She helped to found Colorbrightongreen in 2007. She also serves on the Brighton Central School District environmental committee, and the American Baptist Churches – Rochester Genesee Region Creation Collaborative. You might see her around town teaching music students at her house, playing viola in the RPO. Cheryl enjoys playing in her garden, hiking, biking, and camping with her husband Bruce and two teenage daughters, Helen and Joanna.
